Ingredients:
- Flour-1 kg
- Sugar- 2 tsp
- Salt- 1tsp
- Yeast- 2tsp
- Olive oil- ½ cup
Filling:
- Green fresh thyme- 300g
- Onion- 600gm
- Zaatar leaves- 150gm
- Sumac powder- 100g
- Salt- to taste
- Olive oil- 100g
- Roasted nuts- ¼ cup
- Tomato- ¼ cup
- Green & black olive- ½ cup
How to prepare Zaatar Fatayer?
- Prepare the dough in a mixing bowl and add the flour, salt and sugar
- Mix the yeast with water
- Add the water and oil the dry mixer mix well till it forms soft smooth dough
- Coat the dough with some olive oil cover it and let it rest till it doubles in size
- In the mean time, prepare the filling
- Mix the onion with salt then rub and squeeze it to remove excess water content
- Add chopped thyme, sumac powder, olive oil and little salt then mix well and divide the filling into 6 parts.
- Take the dough and cut into 3 parts as per your measurement
